Bill Lohsen moved to Vermont with his wife Linell in 1982, seeking a lifestyle reminiscent of their rural childhoods in northern New Jersey. Bringing with him experience from a plumbing supply house and his early work as a plumber’s apprentice, Bill completed his apprenticeship and journeyman years with Turner Plumbing and Heating in Rutland.
While building a life in Wallingford — constructing their home on a hill & raising three sons, all of whom followed in his footsteps as plumbers — Bill developed a passion for both family & craft. His dedication to his community extends beyond his business; he served ten years as a selectman in Wallingford, including six years as chairman of the select board.
Over the years, Bill has grown Bill Lohsen Plumbing & Heating into one of the largest plumbing companies in Rutland County. Operating from a 6,000-square-foot portion of a historic foundry on Howe Street, the company provides both residential and commercial services, including design-build projects, boiler, furnace, and water heater replacements. Bill Lohsen Plumbing & Heating is the largest Daikin mini-split installer in central Vermont and installs leading HVAC brands such as Bosch, York, & Thermo Pride. The team also specializes in Buderus and Trio boilers, HVAC control wiring, & has experience with nearly every boiler brand in the area.
The company has collaborated with the Frank Webb Home, Kitchen, Bath & Lighting Center for new home plumbing installations, helping clients select and organize the delivery of quality fixtures, lighting, and accessories.
